Ever since the birth of our shipping container project, Bloomfield/Schon + Partners -- the team in charge of converting the old can factory into loft-style apartments -- has been nothing but great to us. They've put us in touch with possitive city officials, lent their support for our project and even toured us arround their facility a few months back! (And to think we first met Steve Bloomfield and his wife when they attended our last exhibition, The State of Matter.) So when we learned all of their project's funding was in place and they've officially broken ground, we were filled with joy. It's simply not often that you meet developers like them, who actually reach out to the community, support the arts, and generally have a progressive look on how things can be with a bit of kindness and enthusiasm.
If you remember, a few months ago, we mentioned the positive meetings we'd had with the group HERE. Most notably, they are the key-holders to the land we hope to soon land on (to the left of the above photo). But rather than making this into some sort of "fluff" post, we'll cut short and simply say, we wish them all the best ...and hope to continue working with them.
They truly believe in the arts, so we hope others take note of that.
